A painting date
The Ohio Valley Art League is hosting the second annual “For the Love of HeART” dinner and canvas date night in partnership with Hometown Roots Restaurant on Friday, February 14 at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets cost $ 150 per couple and include the following:
Starter-main-dessert meal
- Live music by Collin Mayes
- One free glass of wine per person offered by Farmer & Frenchman Winery
- Step by step painting led by an artist by an instructor “Painting with a twist” with
- all supplies included
The dinner menu is created by Hometown Roots and includes:
- Aperitif – Caesar salad with smoked gouda
- Starter (one choice per guest) – Blackened tenderloin medallions, creamy blue cheese oatmeal, grilled asparagus, house demi-glace OR Honey and bourbon glazed salmon, herb and garlic risotto, roasted zucchini with parmesan
- Dessert – Pecan praline cheesecake

CKB pop-up
Commonwealth Kitchen and Bar in downtown Henderson closed early last year, but owner Jayson Muñoz – who also operates Kanpai sushi in Evansville – announced that the restaurant at 108 Second St. in Henderson will reopen for a Valentine’s Day pop-up event. .
“Love is in the air at CKB,†a Kanpai Facebook post announced.
“Come join us on February 14 and 15 from 4 to 10 p.m. for a Valentine’s Day special. Stay tuned for the menu.”
Rockhouse has heart
Henderson has many die-hard Rockhouse Pizza fans, and the locally owned and operated restaurant returns love during Valentine’s week.
“You have pizza sweetheart!” said an ad on their Facebook page. “Heart-shaped pizzas from February 10 to 16!”
Courting at the cellar
Any discussion of a romantic dinner in Henderson should include the Farmer & Frenchman winery and restaurant.
